About us
A cross-border mission rooted in Ghanaian communities

Pateli Health Aid Missions (PAHAM) is a non-profit organisation operating in Ghana and the United States, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities through education, healthcare, and access to clean water. Founded by public health professional Patience Edziah, the organisation was established with a strong commitment to addressing social inequalities and creating practical solutions to some of the most urgent challenges facing underserved populations, particularly women and girls.
At the centre of our work is the belief that sustainable development begins when people are allowed to thrive in healthy, supportive, and dignified environments. Pateli Health Aid Missions focuses on empowering women and girls because we recognise that investing in them creates lasting transformation within families, schools, and entire communities. Through targeted educational support, health outreach programmes, and sustainable water interventions, the organisation continues to create pathways for individuals and communities to build better futures.
In Ghana, our programmes are designed to respond directly to community needs. We support girls' education through sponsorship, mentorship, and leadership development initiatives that encourage young women to pursue academic and vocational excellence. We also organise health education and medical screening programmes that help communities identify and prevent diseases early while promoting healthier lifestyles. In deprived communities where access to potable water remains limited, we implement mechanised borehole projects that improve sanitation, reduce waterborne diseases, and ease the burden on women and girls who often travel long distances in search of water.
Our presence in the United States strengthens our ability to mobilise resources, build international partnerships, and expand support for our humanitarian activities in Ghana. This cross-border structure enables us to connect global goodwill with local action, ensuring that every intervention we undertake is sustainable, community-driven, and impactful.
Pateli Health Aid Missions is guided by a long-term vision of building healthier, more equitable, and self-reliant communities where women and girls can lead confidently, families can access quality healthcare, and every person can live with dignity.
To create equitable societies where women and girls can lead with confidence, and where everyone can enjoy quality healthcare, safe water, and a healthy, dignified life.
Pateli Health Aid Missions promotes gender equality by empowering women and girls as agents of change in society. Through girl-centred educational programmes, health initiatives, and sustainable water projects, we work to improve lives, foster equitable societies, and build healthy, independent communities.

Why women and girls
We believe that when a girl is educated, healthy, and confident, she becomes a powerful force for transformation. She influences her home, contributes to her school, and eventually strengthens her community. This belief drives every programme we implement.
